Description of problem:
Network will not start with e100 driver for Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 82557/8/9/0/1 Ethernet Pro 100 (rev 10) with lspci id 8086:1229

Every installation

How to fix:
The firmware drivers are missing. From Mageia 1 live distro copy /lib/firmare/e100

Install package kernel-firmware-nonfree from nonfree repo. If nonfree isn't enabled, you need to enable it first.

How do I install the package? It is not on the Mageia 2 dvd and my network is not working ?

download ftp://rpmfind.net/linux/mageia/distrib/2/i586/media/nonfree/release/kernel-firmware-nonfree-20120421-3.mga2.nonfree.noarch.rpm on a usb key ?

(or you can install mageia2 via the boot-nonfree.iso ftp://rpmfind.net/linux/mageia/distrib/2/i586/install/images/boot-nonfree.iso)

Not a bug, was due to missing firmwares.
