the setup of the timezone and country in the summary of the install is
- not good enough during install
- wrong during update

timezone:
all states of the USA are expanded so I have to scroll down a lot to come to Europe. I would prefer to have all parts of the world collapsed, expand my part and choose my timezone. something like http://glow.mozilla.org .
The choice for NTP could be on by default.

country (install):
I would like it to be like the timezone: 1 part of the world, 2 country

country (update):
After an update the country is reset to USA.

with upgrading from mdv 2010.1 x86_64 PWP to mageia 1 beta 2:

- confirmed country being reset to installation standard after language/keyb choice.
- confirmed unset security level

i donno, this seems a pretty major to me? when upgrading from mdv security level becomes 'unset' and country is being changed to USA?

if this isn't fixed at least it should be in Errata imho (especially since we have high expectations of upgrades from mdv)

Too much work for this stage.
We would need a binding for some "choose TZ on the planet" widget

The only thing we could do for now would be not to expand USA by default,
which I'm not sure it's worth it at this stage.


security level is another issue which is already fixed. (Please do NOT mix issues in the same report)

This bug was filed against cauldron, but we do not have cauldron at the moment.

I don't remember scrolling endlessly through a USA list, btw. Did that already get solved, so it can be removed from the summary?

It is still in mga-2.
If you choose for language==Dutch then you also get timezone==Amsterdam and
country==Nederland.
But if you choose for language==English(US) [like most people I know, and that work in IT, do] you get the expanded USA state list.
