ah, forgot to add - I get this on the gnome classic session. Haven't tried the 3d one. This behaviour isn't entirely new - I have one machine on mga2 that does this occasionally, but there it is fixed with a re-login. The machine I have on cooker does it every time and I haven't found a workaround yet. Might be a permission problem?
