Description Simon Weller 2012-06-05 00:44:15 CEST
Description of problem:

When plugging in Canon EOS 350D (Rebel XT) or Canon EOS 7D cameras, udev does not appear to be setting the correct permissions for the desktop unpriv user to gain access to the mass storage camera device.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

Mageia 2 Final.

How reproducible:

Every time.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Plug usb cable in
2. Turn on Camera
3. /var/log/messages shows usb device detected, but does to provide any access to the device

Please note that if the device is plugged in, and I use Digikam running as root, I'm able to gain access to drive content. Digikam with an unpriv user can detect the camera, but is unable to gain access to the device media.

I'm going to attach to udev outputs in debug with both cameras mentioned above.
