Description Marja Van Waes 2012-05-28 09:00:21 CEST
If you want to change the language for the spell checker in FireFox or Thunderbird, you are asked to choose between all the locales you have instead of just between the installed dictionaries.

Kamil, please have a look at this, i can't handle this currently as i'm quite busy and not OK with fixing some problem which was caused by a change you asked for, resulting from the migration to hunspell. I don't care if the problem is the same for Fedora, this is quite disturbing for users, and has been reported on forums multiple times, also by Marja herself.
And removing the hunspell dictionaries which cause this seems a totally ugly workaround.

FWIW, as this is a problem with distro integration/implementation of hunspell, i don't think Mozilla guys will care about special setups like this.

I will look at it in Fedora. I hope there is a better solution then dividing 120 packages into 1000.

Firefox and Thunderbird collect the "languages" they let you choose between from /usr/share/hunspell/

Most of the files there are just links to other files in the same folder, if you remove all the links and start Thunderbird or Firefox again, you'll have a normal amount of languages to choose from for your spell checker.

I will try to prepare a druid for it in our Mageia Software Center.

Just did a fresh boot.iso install.

For me this bug is fixed in cauldron

This was fixed long ago for cauldron (and Mga3), and we don't support Mga2 anymore, so closing
