Default install of Mageia 2 for KDE, using existing "/home" drive that was originally generated using Mandriva 2010.0.


If i bring up
Tools -> System Tools -> System Settings
and select 
System Administration -> Login Screen

-> Select "Theme" tab
-> Select "Get New Themes"
-> Select "Rating" then "Elegant Air KDM Theme"
-> Install

it says it has installed it. Go back to the list on the "Theme" tab and you still only have the original installed themes. Obviously the list should be updated but isn't, or if it didn't install then an error given.


Q : How do I check if it is installed ? in which directory ?
Q : Is there a workaround to make use of other themes ?

Further info : if I edit /usr/share/config/kdm/kdmrc to allow root login, then login as root and do the above config change to install the theme then it installs (in /usr/share/apps/kdm/themes) and is in the list. 

So the problem is in systemsettings when logged in as a normal user and trying to install ... and it isn't prompting for root login at that point to install the theme system-wide. Hence a typical user will never get the chance to install new themes without hackery of config files.

Cannot reproduce for 5Beta3. Changing and installing new themes appears to work as intended. So close
