I can't access that url. I tested mplayer on an mkv file on my HDD, both q and Esc work as expected. Keywords:

NEEDINFO Sorry for the URL, wrong mouse click. I tried to create a new user, then play again, still the problem is here. The console says : No bind for key 'JOY_AXIS2_MINUS'.-q No bind for key 'JOY_AXIS2_MINUS'.-ESC In fact it is any key that does not work. I thought of a KDE bug, but even using mplayer through ssh I have the same problem, with a warning for joystick init event : A: 7.2 V: 3.2 A-V: 3.925 ct: 0.076 0/ 0 38% 176% 2.7% 78 0 Joystick: warning init event, we have lost sync with driver. A: 7.3 V: 3.3 A-V: 3.990 ct: 0.077 0/ 0 38% 176% 2.7% 79 0 Joystick: warning init event, we have lost sync with driver. No bind found for key 'JOY_AXIS2_MINUS'.-q Maybe you tried with a user that has his own .mplayer/config file? Seems the default mplayer config file tries to use Joystick? Tried with a Mandriva 2010.1, same problem so this looks like a hardware keyboard/driver problem. Status:

RESOLVED I've got some more information : - my laptop has an accelerometer that interferes with joystick in mplayer : moving the laptop gives events JOYSTICK UP DOWN LEFT RIGHT. - because of this bug, joystick is disabled by default in mplayer conf file : /etc/mplayer/mplayer.conf has nojoystick=yes But the bug is that this option is not used by mplayer. Still, if I create a ~/.mplayer/config file with this line, it works. Status:
RESOLVED =>
REOPENED Good catch, something in /etc/mplayer/mplayer.conf makes the whole file no taken into account by mplayer, I'll try and see which line exactly... Should be fixed in the next mplayer package. Keywords:
