Description claire robinson 2012-05-16 13:58:08 CEST
In a default LXDE installation, there is no way to take screenshots. There is in KDE/Gnome.

Please add a lightweight screenshot app to LXDE :)

Hi,

This bug was filed against cauldron, but we do not have cauldron at the moment.

Please report whether this bug is still valid for Mageia 2.

Thanks :)

Cheers,
marja

shutter maybe or scrot
Comment 4 claire robinson 2013-04-16 18:52:49 CEST
valid 3RC

Comment 5 claire robinson 2013-04-19 19:09:47 CEST
valid 3rd build 3RC (19th April)
Comment 6 Oliver Burger 2013-04-25 12:50:55 CEST
We could add one of these to the new "task-lxde" package., so we won't have to consider it, when it comes to iso size?

I'd go for scrot, since shutter has many more dependencies, e.g. libgnome, which we don't need on an lxde system.

Comment 7 claire robinson 2013-04-25 13:02:30 CEST
The only downside to scrot is it is cli only.

screengrab may be an alternative.
Comment 8 claire robinson 2013-04-25 13:30:57 CEST
xwpick maybe or xfce4-screenshooter
Comment 9 You-Cheng Hsieh 2013-04-25 15:07:34 CEST
Out of surprise, gnome-screenshot seems have very few dependency if we already have Mageia Control Center installed.

Could any one try it with a new installed system?
Comment 10 Oliver Burger 2013-04-25 15:19:46 CEST
xwpick does not seem to work here:
"xwpick: can not work with TrueColor visual"

gnome-screenshot needs gnome-keyring
xfce-screenshooter needs xfce4-panel

Which to chose? Pest or cholera?
Comment 11 You-Cheng Hsieh 2013-04-25 15:51:53 CEST
And screengrab needs qt, which needs even more space.(lxde tools only need gtk2)
Comment 12 You-Cheng Hsieh 2013-04-26 04:00:39 CEST
LXDE has its own scrreenshot tool, but in pending status
http://wiki.lxde.org/en/Status_of_LXDE_components

We can wait for it to be active again, or someone want to try the 0.0.1 version...

That's a task-lxde issue

The LXDE manual http://wiki.lxde.org/en/How_to_take_screenshots have how to... could be this added to MGA6 or as update to MGA5?

In MGA8 gnome-screenshot gets installed with task-lxde. So this was solved some time ago but this bug got somehow forgotten. Closing as FIXED
