Testing prerelease 2 final dvd 64 with default lxde installation.

The screensaver does not kick in. When looking in the screensaver settings it says "Warning: The XScreenSaver daemon doesn't seem to be running on display ":0". Launch it now?" in a pop up.

Once launched here, it works OK.

Hi,

This bug was filed against cauldron, but we do not have cauldron at the moment.

Please report whether this bug is still valid for Mageia 2.

I have this same problem on the stable Mageia 2 release for the i586 platform.  I have three LXDE machines, and they all have the problem.

Oliver, is there a way to add autostarting deamon/apps in lxde like in gnome or kde ?

I reported bug 350 about xscreensaver a while ago. It was closed as old but there are still problems with it in Mageia2  (WindowMaker and Openbox  I'm using at the moment).

This is an LXDE problem, not an xscreensaver one.

This problem is *not* fixed for Mageia 3/LXDE/i586.  When double-clicking the 'Screensaver' icon, I still receive the message "Warning: The XScreenSaver daemon doesn't seem to be running on display ":0". Launch it now?"
