Description of problem:
I ran the live CD of RC2 on two computers, both equipped with an NVIDIA graphics card (different types). Once KDE comes up the screen paints and repaints extremely slowly. For example, I press the Menu Launcher and I see the frame of the menu pop up, but further contents do not show. It can easily take up to a few minutes before the window is painted. Or, I start firefox (wait) and when it shows, if I hit the maximize button again it takes minutes for the window to repaint itself.

I tested this on two different computers and both exhibit the same behaviour. To rule out DVD-performance I then did an install to one of the computers. Sadly the same result.

BTW, when running in Virtualbox performance is normal

lspcidrake output on a laptop equipped with an ATI video card. Performance is just fine and in line with what can be expected.

Hi,

This bug was filed against cauldron, but we do not have cauldron at the moment.

Please report whether this bug is still valid for Mageia 2.

This bug is not valid for the release version for Mageia 2.

Mageia 2 final release runs just fine. I will therefore change the status to RESOLVED.
