Mageia 2 Hi maurice, After migration means when upgrading from KMail in Mageia 1 to Mageia 2 RC, or? Also, is your IMAP server local, or your ISP's? Would you happen to know what IMAP server sofware this is?

remco > After migration means when upgrading from KMail in Mageia 1 to Mageia 2 RC, yes, upgrading kmail from mgia1 to 2 RC > Also, is your IMAP server local, or your ISP's? Would you happen to know what IMAP server sofware this is? The server is know for his inusability with disconcted imap. I don't know what is is It's name is imap.free.fr A all new configuration seem to work seamlessy. I am beholding the old .kde4 for debuging purposes You should here open a bug report upstream. There's know issue regarding upgrade (for both imap & pop account) & i added a line on the errata suggesting to create a new account rather then upgrading an old one. CC:

It's not removing olds accounts an creating new ones, It's removing all configuration.
Hi, This bug was filed against cauldron, but we do not have cauldron at the moment. Please report whether this bug is still valid for Mageia 2. Thanks :) Cheers, marja Keywords:

NEEDINFO I seem to have this issue, but this is a new installation (no upgrade) At first, everything looked to be going well, but then i had a cable error, so i replaced the cable. obviously kmail was in offline mode, so i turned it back on and it seemed to work. I receive email, (every 5min), all is well. i've sent a few emails, all is well. The next day, suddenly, it's in offline mode, i check network and imap server again, all is well. i click switch to online. i send an email, but when sending; again, it says offline mode. i click online mode. the mail is not being sent. it stays in outbox. at the main time, i still keep getting emails every 5 minutes, but if i try to sync or things, i am in offline mode. I think it might work, if i unplug my network and replug it, but that's not how this should work. i think perhaps the offline detection in akonadi is going weird? is there a way to see and control it with akonadi or dbus commands? so that i can see what is wrong? (none) restarting kmail didn't work. workaround: i made the systray icon appear, and selected "send all messages now" and that worked, my email has been sent even though it seems still stuck in offline mode, i get new messages and with this workaround i can send out messages... i'll try restarting akonadi with "akonadictl restart" as a regular user. this is a part of the output i got after "akonadictl restart":
Known subscriber "AkonadiAgentServer" subscribes again
void Akonadi::NotificationSource::addClientServiceName(const QString&) Notification source "AkonadiAgentServer" now serving: (":1.1213", ":1.1210")
Known subscriber "AkonadiAgentServer" subscribes again
void Akonadi::NotificationSource::addClientServiceName(const QString&) Notification source "AkonadiAgentServer" now serving: (":1.1213", ":1.1210", ":1.1211")
Known subscriber "AkonadiAgentServer" subscribes again
void Akonadi::NotificationSource::addClientServiceName(const QString&) Notification source "AkonadiAgentServer" now serving: (":1.1213", ":1.1210", ":1.1211", ":1.1212")

request for item 7882 still pending - waiting
"Cannot connect to agent instance with identifier 'akonadi_imap_resource_0', error message: 'Could not get owner of name 'org.freedesktop.Akonadi.Resource.akonadi_imap_resource_0': no such name'"
processing retrieval request for item 7882 parts: ("RFC822") of resource: "akonadi_imap_resource_0"
continuing
request for item 7882 "1939" failed: "Unable to contact resource"
ItemRetrieverException : Unable to contact resource
maybe this pending request of whatever is doing weird things with offline mode.
if it wasn't clear from previous, it didn't work AL13N> could you please test bug #6159. Also your bug is not the same as pointed by maurice which seems to happens to migrated account while you're speaking about a fresh install. Depends on:

6159 maybe it isn't the same, but it sounded like the same effects? in any case, i had closed kontact, stopped akonadi, and logged out and back in again, and that worked as a workaround. i haven't seen this update yet, though... maybe my mirror needs to update a bit. @maurice, perhaps you should test that bug too. maybe these 2 bugs are the same ones. the update of kdebase4-runtime was pushed, what about this bug ? Closing as fixed since there's no answer & the fact that it should be fixed with the kde-runtime update (especially with 4.8.5 which covers the « i have installed nm but i'm not using it » ) Status:
