Description Kristoffer Grundström 2011-03-29 12:20:47 CEST
Description of problem: I've been curious for a while about if it's possible to create a program with gui that you could use to find any prize in the world from all companies that offer web-based shopping & gather them in one search just like theese sites:

http://www.pricerunner.com
http://www.prisjakt.nu (Swedish)
and so on.......

To help people find cheaper prizes.

Perhaps users could add any shops they find on the net.

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Install the program (whatever it may be called) & its gui.
2. Open the program.
3. Start filtering out hits by a certain country or choose ALL.
4. Click Search-button when done.
5. Wait for the hits.
6. Perhaps add an automatic function that converts any countries currency into your currency & perhaps include shipping costs if possible.

I'll give an example when this comes to good use.

If you know that you're looking for a TV, but thinks that the prizes in your country is way to high or you KNOW that you can buy the same TV in a nearby country, but you don't know which stores to look in when you browse the web or if you just feel to lazy to use http://www.google.com or similar search-engine to find the companies homepage.

This makes my idea something unique just for Linux.

Use the same functions as on the price-comparizon-sites & put the results in a gui.

Closing this bug as invalid.

This bugzilla isn't for requesting programs which are not existing. There are other pages for seeking developers for your ideas. Can't name one, though.

Feel free to reopen this bug when you find some program we could package.
