Description Melvin Ross 2012-05-11 01:40:40 CEST
Description of problem:
I've installed Mageia 1 and the RC for Mageia 2 on my desktop. In both instances, the live session/installer both ignore my USB dongle. The unneeded hardware wizard says that it is removing bluedevil, which isn't all that important, but an unstated consequence of this is that bluez is not installed either. The installation goes on as normal and once it's installed, I then have to manually install Bluez and bluedevil.

This Dongle is the dongle, if relevant.

I'll help anyway that I can.

How reproducible:
Don't know how reproducible this is without my hardware, or a dongle based on similar hardware.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install Mageia.
2.

Hi,

This bug was filed against cauldron, but we do not have cauldron at the moment.

Please report whether this bug is still valid for Mageia 2.

Thanks :)

Cheers,
marja

Can you attach the pci.txt file resulting from running the following command?
lspcidrake -v>pci.txt

Changed the affected OS to Mageia 2. At the time of opening this bug report, there was no option for Mageia 2 since it hadn't been officially released. I currently don't have a case for the machine in question, so it isn't set up. Once I have a case for this machine, I will report back here.

I have this system up and running and I'm about to do a fresh install to see if this bug report is valid, and to see if I can reproduce a problem with LXDE. I'll report back with my findings.

lspcidrake Dump

that's on mga2.
what if you adds "hci_usb" to the bluetooth line in /usr/lib/libDrakX/list_modules.pm?
eg:
    bluetooth => [ qw(bcm203x bfusb bpa10x btusb hci_usb) ],

Also, could you try mga3b4?
Comment 9 Thierry Vignaud 2013-03-28 08:24:46 CET
Argh, hci_usb was removed from kernel in 2008 but ldetect-lst still listed it...
Fixed for mga3 in ldetect-lst-0.1.316

Thomas, we should check there's not other obsolete entries in ldetect-lst...
