Description of problem:

I upgraded Mageia 1 to Cauldron following instructions on the Mageia wiki.
My mail account was not migrated and I had to recreate it.
All my existing mails from before the upgrade are complete but all mails received to Inbox after the upgrade only show headers. The mail body is empty.
Mails filtered to other folders on the server (by sieve) have headers and body.
Mails filtered as Spam to Junk folder only have headers also.

How reproducible:
Consistently. It appears that mail arriving via Inbox does not have body text.


Steps to Reproduce:
1. Select a mail in Inbox.
2. Observe that headers are present but not body text.
3. Select a mail filtered to another folder by server mechanism.
4. Observe that headers and body text are present.

I can't reproduce here.
Which type of account did you create ? imap ? pop3 ?
I'm using imap here & mails are also filtered on my mail server using sieve.

It is an IMAP account.

The symptoms look like bugs.kde.org #298393 and I do have the bogofilter Spam filters enabled.

I've just deleted those filters and I will see if it resolves the issue.

It seems to affect only unread mail. I read one of my latest e-mails first on my Android phone and when I opened it in KMail the body was there. The other, unread, mails opened with empty bodies.

It is the bogofilter Spam filter!

I did the following to ensure a clean KMail setup:

1) Deleted akonadi directories from ~/.config and ~/.local/share
2) Removed all kaddressbook, kmail, kontact, korganizer, knotes and kres-migrator stuff from ~/.kde4/share/config and ~/.kde4/share/apps
3) Restarted KDE to recreate akonadi agent resources
4) Re-added resources through KDE Personal Settings control module
5) Re-created my local addressbook
6) Started KMail and reconfigured accounts and settings

Then I performed the following tests:

1) Sent a test mail to myself - mail was received and displayed correctly!
2) Ran the Anti-Spam wizard and configured for bogofilter
3) Restarted KMail to ensure configuration was adopted
4) Sent a test mail to myself - mail was received but body was not present!
5) Disabled and deleted the 4 filters created by Anti-Spam wizard
6) Restarted KMail to ensure configuration was adopted
7) Sent a test mail to myself - mail was received and displayed correctly!

So, it appears that bogofilter Spam filter strips body from incoming unread mails.

This bug was filed against cauldron, but we do not have cauldron at the moment.

Please report whether this bug is still valid for Mageia 2.

I can't reproduce in 5Beta3 using kmail (kdepim4-4.14.5-1.mga5. Presumably it has been fixed up stream. Close?
