doktor5000, fundawang Seems an upstream problem, also happens with binary tarballs. Will take a look. I've opened a bug report upstream. But it seems there are many problems in general with the import dialogs. Keywords:

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=63389 Thunderbird for windows comes with import filters for at Eudora and Outlook Express. I do not understand why the Linux version should not have the same. If import is such a mess does it make sense to bundle the import/export tools extension into the Mageia Thunderbird package? https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/importexporttools It does work importing messages in both mbox and maildir formats. FWIW, thunderbird in windows can only import stuff if those other mail programs are installed and set as default mailers, f.ex. it can't import outlook data without outlook being installed. I'm a bit hesitating to include this by default, because you can just install it if you need it. So far noone expressed a need for this except in this report ... But i'm not saying i'm totally against. I've got to think about it, after doing some investigations. After thinking about it some more, and talking to other packagers, i won't add this addon. In all the years i'm using thunderbird i've never heard any problems or complaints about the import function, and you can perfectly install that extensions manually. We try to keep the packaged extensions or even more the default extensions to a bare minimum for sustainability and maintainability. Status:
