When using Mageia kde screensaver that uses images from /usr/share/mga/screensaver
it starts eating all cpu.

I think that you mean "desktop effects" enable.

(kwin is the default kde window manager

Is this the slideshow screensaver? If yes, it may be related to Bug 5020. I found the CPU usage go high when one slide was transitioning to another.
