I have to mention that using boot.iso or each arch version on its own works fine.

Burn that iso to the USB-key. so can you test with dd ? Status:

Do you mean that you tested with dd? cd /directory-with-iso/ dd if=Mageia-2-beta3-dual-CD.iso of=/dev/sd? bs=1M where sd? is the usb drive. CC:
