Description Joe Da Silva 2012-04-22 21:43:14 CEST
Description of problem:
When playing KShisen (Shisen-Sho) on Mageia 2, Beta 3, there is a large delay between when you select matching pieces and when the pieces appear matched and then deleted. The delay is somewhat annoying and makes the game non-enjoyable for anyone who plays solitaire-type games.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Mageia2, Beta 3, Shisen-Sho 1.8.4 packaged with KDE 4.8.2

How reproducible:
Always

This problem does not appear on Mahjong (similar game with similar KDE base/roots) and it does not appear on the older version that ships with Mageia 1, KDE 4.6.x

I was looking favourably at having Mageia 2 put on a machine for an older user that doesn't understand computers much, and can play these "simpler" solitaire-type games but the game-play for Shisen-Sho is somewhat of a detraction on Mageia 2 (versus the older Mageia 1).

Thanks.
Further reading found that the bug is likely back-end related and turning "off" the "Play Sounds" fixes this problem (for myself).
