Hmmm, if we only rely on that, we need to add atleast some of the ata drivers including ahci

Olivier, do you really want to install dmraid every time we see "ahci"?
Wouldn't it better to keep it "if any { fs::type::is_dmraid($_) } @{$o->{all_hds}{hds}};" ?

This bug was filed against cauldron, but we do not have cauldron at the moment.

Please report whether this bug is still valid for Mageia 2.

add dmraid selection

Thomas, Blino could you test this patch on real HW?

Done a fresh install of Mageia 3 Alpha 2 and same problem, as with MG2 final

Should I start another bug report?

No. Thus BR is open against Cauldron as Mga2 Live ISOs are frozen.

Someone has to test:
- either my suggestion from comment #7
- or my patch though.

I didn't commit it yet due to me lacking the appropriate hardware.

Alternatively we could add dmraid to @wanted_hardware_packages in pkgs::remove_unused_packages(), which I'm not fond of.

Or better remove dmraid from rpmsrate as we pull it anyway in install::any::default_packages(). We just need to list it in the no_copy section

blacklisting dmraid from being removed (bad solution, leaving dmraid installed on systems not needing it)

I'm uploading a new meta-task with last idea from comment #16.
Once Thomas do some new Live ISOs, people can test.

can anyone from this thread test if this bug is fixed with the last alpha3 or not ?

Done a install of Alpha 3, same problem.

Bit more info, tried again, dmraid is no longer listed in the remove unused drivers, however after the reboot the system drops to shell, error unable to find /dev/mapper/xxxx. 

Tried without removing the unused hardware and still not working. 

Seems to be removed regardless now.

Looked at the dracut.log and dmraid is listed as been omitted.

Bogus initrd is another issue, please open another bug report about it so that this bug report doesn't become unreadable

Removed Needinfo because the requested info is given.
