shlomif "You can have" many more things. Point is that Mageia is establishing PA as default sound system (at least this is what I keep reading all the time) so IMHO it is at least debatable to distribute a media player without a PA plugin as required package. That's why I filed it as a bug. Took me quite some time to find out because I was looking for a bug in vlc. CC:

molch.b Well, there might be people who still use alsa and don't want to hear anything about pulse, but they still want to use vlc. If you are using urpmi with --no-suggests option then you get what you want. For normal user there are no problems here.. His/her vlc will work :) CC:

sander.lepik Well, opinions differ and in the end somebody has to decide. As I am not the one who decides I have to live with the "WON'T FIX" and remember this for future installations. Hi, This bug was filed against cauldron, but we do not have cauldron at the moment. Please report whether this bug is still valid for Mageia 2. Thanks :) Cheers, marja Keywords:

(none) I'm leaning towards resolving this bug as WONTFIX. Any final objections? Regards, -- Shlomi Fish yes wontfix, 3 against 1 :p Status:
