Description Andrew 2012-04-11 07:59:09 CEST
Description of problem:

When attempting to download packages from rpmdrake (in this case, wget) - an error message is produced "aria2 failed: exited with 19

Failed to download wget-1.13.4-2.mga2.x86_64.rpm
Retry?"

This error has occured when attempting to download several different rpms including broadcom-wl-kernel-3.3.1-desktop-2.mga2

This also occured when attempting to update tainted packages. Are these down temporarily?

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

Cauldron Beta 2 (fully updated in Gnome 3 as of 4/11)

How reproducible:

Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Log into Gnome
2. Open Mageia Control Panel
3. Select Install & Remove Software
4. Enable online repositories if not already enabled
5. Attempt to install "wget" or "broadcom-wl-kernel" amongst other rpms
6. See error

In the man of aria2c we can see

      19
           If name resolution failed.

I guess this was a temporary issue (user side or mirror side), that can happen sometimes.

what is the output of "grep chosen /var/cache/urpmi/mirrors.cache" ?

Sorry for late reply

Output of "grep chosen /var/cache/urpmi/mirrors.cache" is:

'ftp://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/mageia/distrib/cauldron/x86_64'

I noticed from experience, at least here in the USA that ftp://mirrors.kernel.org tends to be much faster but perhaps that's just for downloading the ISO.

Problem seems to have been temporary.
