Well this is a bug in all desktop, and networkmanager is not installed as default (only in gnome), but it overight the using of net_applet (when it's correctly configured) so you can add remove the autostart of this one. Right click on net_applet, parametres, uncheck "always lauch" Keywords:

mageia Hi, This bug was filed against cauldron, but we do not have cauldron at the moment. Please report whether this bug is still valid for Mageia 2. Thanks :) Cheers, marja Keywords:

thierry.vignaud Link is no more valid: https://abf.rosalinux.ru/omv_software/drakx-net/commit/2d6ec73b3aba66bbba2ff0be6976ac2bb3f60902 https://abf.rosalinux.ru/openmandriva/drakx-net/blob/master/drakx-net-nm-applet-disable-with-NM.patch BTW this looks bogus/incomplete to me: 1) it should use glob() instead of all() + manual filtering 2) loopback should be filtered the same way as .rpm(save|new) 3) what happens if one interface is controlled by NM and another one is not? This bug is as old as the hills, and still applies in M6, probably M7 - at least with multiple desktop installs. All minority desktops show both network Systray icons; the bugbear is that the networkmanager one shows "network disabled", which is not true. The debate about networkmanager v net-applet has dragged for several releases, and never gets discussed & decided. A council affair, I think. |
