Description jon scsi 2012-04-08 05:32:56 CEST
Description of problem:
Considering I have just used some 2gig of expensive satellite download capacity to get the files to install in a spare partition, I had expected them to still be available for use on other machines without having to download them again. However, your install program, without notice or comment, just willy-nilly deleted them! I am less than impressed!

I had been expecting them to be there and allow me to do a 'hard drive' sourced install across the internal network with the boot iso.

Only one of my boxes has internet access!

This means I cannot do a thorough test across the range of hardware I use and support unless I now work out what has come down and re-download them individually, and that will cost more capacity!

Not very professional folks!

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

drakx-installer-stage2 doesn't remove anything when performing a disk install.

a cutting from the install log.....
and we are talking about a wired install to start with
I had expected to be able to use the downloaded files for a disk install later.

You should consider urpmi-proxy
Comment 4 jon scsi 2012-04-20 06:09:58 CEST
ok, and thank you for the pointer, I still have much to learn with mageia

I will have a go and see how I go that way after the 27th when I get my new 'download allowance'.
