"apropos message" does not list the motd page, as
the man file uses xz compression.

Fixed, thanks for the patch.

The apropos database will be recreated by the weekly cronjob, but you can run them manually as well.
Just run the /etc/cron.weekly/makewhatis* scripts as root.
