Description of problem:
In my KDE-installation of beta2 (updated in the last evening) the shutdown / restart buttons doesn`t work.

In my other KDE-installation (based on beta1, also up-to-date) it is ok.

I see this too, but when KDE first starts the button works fine.  It's only after the desktop has been in use for hours that the button becomes unresponsive.

BTW, this only affects the logout/shutdown button that can be added to the panel.  The "Leave" choice on the Application Launcher continues to work fine.

I have seen this somewhere but can't found it anymore :/ 
maybe it was in a pre-release pad of the QA

I have run into something like this in Mageia 2 RC. The shutdown and restart buttons in the application menu don't work, and neither does the little shutdown button in the panel.

The bug appears to only be affecting my laptop, which has the 32-bit version installed. (It's a Compaq Presario C-500, several years old.) And the bug only seems to manifest itself when the laptop has been on for a couple of hours or more, and even then it may be intermittent.

I have not seen this behavior on my desktop machine, where I am running the 64-bit version.

If you would like to see any log files from the laptop, I will gladly try to provide them.

Other than that, this release has been absolutely great.

Hi,

This bug was filed against cauldron, but we do not have cauldron at the moment.

Please report whether this bug is still valid for Mageia 2.

Please reopen when needed and tell for which version(s) of Mageia this bug is still valid.

If it is valid for both cauldron and Mageia 2, then please put MGA2TOO on the whiteboard and let version remain set to cauldron
