Some errors in ./.xession-error.log ? (not sure of the name)

Component: Installer => RPM Packages
Summary: Afterstep by default => Afterstep don't start some apps
Source RPM: (none) => afterstep

Created attachment 1794 [details]
xsession-errors

Here the file xsesssion-error. There is nothing with the same name as not started applications.
Finally, I am not that the environment is Afterstep, but Windowmaker. I don't know them.

@papoteur
When you are running afterstep, the desktop background by default shows "AfterStep" on it. Judging by the applications you mention, I think you are getting windowmaker indeed instead of AfterStep.

That said, windowmaker works fine without those applets. As such, I think they are probably added as Suggests instead of Requires. When updating from an online media, these applets should become available and installed on your system. Due to space constraints on the ISO's unfortunately not all Suggests can be included.

That leaves the question of why windowmaker is started instead of LXDE. But I could reverse the question, and ask why you expect LXDE to start by default when you've also chosen "other environment" in the installer.

All in all, I don't think you are getting any unexpected results here.

Hi! These apps are suggested now, I plan to prepare two flavours Mageia and default of the default desktop. The first will contain these apps (systray, etc) and the latter will be the default clean.

Hi,

This bug was filed against cauldron, but we do not have cauldron at the moment.

Please report whether this bug is still valid for Mageia 2.

Thanks :)

Cheers,
marja
