Description Jim Darby 2012-03-17 00:11:30 CET
Description of problem:

I've been using "focus follows mouse" on all previous mandriva/mageia with no problems. After install I always go to system settings -> window behaviour -> window behaviour and set policy to "focus under mouse".

This doesn't work under M2B2.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

Mageia 2 Beta 2

How reproducible:

Every time.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.go to system settings -> window behaviour -> window behaviour and set policy to "focus under mouse".
2. Click "apply"
3. Note that it's still click to focus.

KDE, XFCE, something else? I now it isn't GNOME, but..

Good grief! How could I miss out such an essential piece of information! Apologies! I normally pride myself on the quality of my bug reports...

It's KDE.

I am curious through. How did you know it wasn't Gnome?

I am having no problems on my clean install of my -beta2-x86_64-DVD.iso on my host or in my 64 bit VirtualBox guest. My testbed box also does not have the problem.

Having an A type personality, I did change the 750 millisecond delay to 150. :)
It was a clean beta2 install with all new files in $HOME.
If yours wasn't, create a test account, say junk, and see if the problem still occurs in the junk account.

Only other major difference I can think of is, I have default run level 3 and have to do a startx to get the kde desktop.

Major embarrassment mode!

Previously I've always upgrade and not noticed that the delay had been turned off. I've honestly not noticed it before!

So, setting it to either off or 100mS solves the problem.

Apologies for the false alarm!
