If one has alsa and not pulse, one needs this brilliant app to control volume and choose which channels to control:

http://code.google.com/p/volti/

Qastools are in the repository and I've installed it, but at the end of an hour or two found it useless. In contrast Volti after just two clicks has made it possible to choose the right channel (PCM) and use its volume control properly.

Assigning this package request to all packagers collectively. On a voluntary basis, one of them might want to integrate it to the distribution and maintain it for bug and security fixes.

You might also want to join the packager team to maintain this piece of software: see https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Becoming_a_Mageia_Packager

The last release is from 2010! No actual linux distribution is shipping this dead package.

The appropriate alsa tool called alsamixergui is shipped since beginning of Mageia.

Closing as WONTFIX.
