Description Alexander Zakamaldin 2012-03-03 07:15:49 CET
Description of problem:

For landscape oriented printouts the final drawing seems to be incorrectly rotated to -90 degrees and is clipped.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

libgnomeprint-2.18.8-1.mga1

How reproducible:

Compile and launch test-print.c from the tests supplied.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open the test-prinout.c with editor.
2. Append line 'gnome_print_config_set( config, (guchar*)(char*)GNOME_PRINT_KEY_PAGE_ORIENTATION, (guchar*)(char*)"R90" );' after the line #23.
3. Compile and launch test-printout and see o.ps file.

Another method to reproduce this problem is to compile and launch examples from libgnomeprinui 2.18.6-1.mga1 and try various logical page orientations.

I really know that libgnomeprint was deprecated by Gnome team long time ago. But for wxgtk users (Kicad for example) there is no real alternative to gnomeprint. I did some investigations for this problem. And I have a solution how to fix this problem for now. I am ready to submit my patches to Mageia team if you would like.

Hi, thanks for reporting this bug.
As there is no maintainer for this package I added the committers in CC.
(and yes you can attach the patch here)

(Please set the status to 'assigned' if you are working on it)

This patch fixes orientation issues for preview.

This is not a real patch, it is a workaround to compensate the preview_orientation patch influence to preview. Unfortunately I didn't find another way to do it.

To Alexander Zakamaldin:

Funda wang added the patches and submitted libgnomeprintui-2.18.6-1.1.mga1.src.rpm and libgnomeprint-2.18.8-1.1.mga1.src.rpm to the Core Updates Testing media.

Does it solve your problem?

To Funda Wang:

This package has been submitted to updates_testing for Mageia 1 several months
ago.

Please either assign a bug report to qa-bugs@ml.mageia.org, following
https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Updates_policy, or request the package(s) to be
removed (if so, rename the bug report and assign to
sysadmin-bugs@ml.mageia.org).

Yes, sure. It solved my problem.
Comment 10 Manuel Hiebel 2012-11-05 16:53:36 CET
This message is a reminder that Mageia 1 is nearing its end of life.
In approximately 25 days from now, Mageia will stop maintaining and issuing
updates for Mageia 1. At that time this bug will be closed as WONTFIX (EOL) if it
remains open with a Mageia 'version' of '1'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to
fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later
Mageia version prior to Mageia 1's end of life.

Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we may not
be able to fix it before Mageia 1 is end of life. If you would still like to see
this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Mageia,
you are encouraged to click on "Version" and change it against that version
of Mageia.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime,
sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Mageia
release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete.
