Hi, have you a link to try to reproduce ?

Also firefox 10 is still in testing, do you use the Mozilla version or our rpm ?

You can use any webradio. The sound volume changes happen e.g. with http://www.bvovradio.org/word.asx .

I use this rpm:
firefox-10.0.2-0.1.mga1
Comment 3 Manuel Hiebel 2012-02-28 13:49:50 CET
this is really strange

what pluging do you use ?

can you reproduce with playing the webradio with mplayer, totem, vlc ?
Comment 4 Franz Holzinger 2012-02-28 14:16:48 CET
This happens only in the firefox. It works well with Totem player.

I do not know which plugin the Firefox uses.
maybe it is the Windows Media Player plugin or the mplayer plugin.
I do not find asx format set in Firefox.
Comment 5 Manuel Hiebel 2012-02-28 14:21:31 CET
about:plugins will tell you that

I have much the same as Franz, but no sound at all from audio streaming in Firefox since I made Cauldron (since Beta 3) my main system.

As well as the Windows Media Player Plug-in, about:plugins and the "preferences" menu mention the VLC Plug-in. There is still the cryptic statement "The Totem" ... "plugin handles video and audio streams." This suggests that I haven't installed it, but it is there. In my case the version is 3.4.1, instead of 2.32.0.

Footnote: I can stream audio quite successfully outside Firefox, using tunapie for Web radio, and gmplayer to play it. There is no sound from YouTube. But I can see the sound bar working in the PulseAudio GUI for my default soundcard.

This message is a reminder that Mageia 1 is nearing its end of life.
In approximately 25 days from now, Mageia will stop maintaining and issuing
updates for Mageia 1. At that time this bug will be closed as WONTFIX (EOL) if it
remains open with a Mageia 'version' of '1'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to
fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later
Mageia version prior to Mageia 1's end of life.

Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we may not
be able to fix it before Mageia 1 is end of life. If you would still like to see
this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Mageia,
you are encouraged to click on "Version" and change it against that version
of Mageia.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime,
sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Mageia
release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete.

My issue was with Mga 3, not 1, and I am back to running 2 Official. For me, this bug can close. I rarely stream from Firefox nowadays.
