Mageia 2 Hi, you can switch to console 2 (by pressing 'Ctrl-Alt-F2') during installation, put a floppy in floppy drive or plug a USB key/stick and type: 'bug' then press Enter. It will put report.bug on the floppy/key. Keywords:

thierry.vignaud maybe this bug is also a duplicate of bug 4642 as I guess the stage2 use udisks ? Ok. I have more informations. Before : I booted with install method and it freezed after licence acception form. No way to debug. -> I have lots of garbage on syslog (error I/O fd0 ...) So I've disabled floppy disk (I haven't one) in Bios as Magnus said. --> Works. Now I have other issues. (In reply to comment #5) > maybe this bug is also a duplicate of bug 4642 as I guess the stage2 use udisks > ? There's no udisk in installer at all. Thomas: is there any way to make the kernel's floppy.ko be less intrusive? CC:

tmb Installing Mageia-2-beta2-x86_64-DVD from dvd, I have replicated this, disabling FD in bios gave me the install / upgrade step CC:

led43john folks, if you change your boot order in bios so that the usb is before the floppy, does the problem still exist? I take it the licence is there on the usb. CC:

scsijon no USB involved here (originally Bug 4745), so no, doesn't change a thing. I'm thinking of patching kernel like fedora so it stops to autoload floppy everytime it finds the pnp headers Reassigning Component:

thierry.vignaud I have now disabled floppy autoloading in svn, and it will be part of upcoming 3.3.3-1.mga2 just verified with the most recent dual boot CD image and the issue (Bug 4745) is gone. will do some more testing with the DVD images, but I consider this one fixed. Closing then Status:
