Description Uli Selle 2012-02-24 05:11:25 CET
Description of problem:

After installing Virtualbox from ControlCenter and starting it, I created a new Windows guest. So long all ok. When I tried to start the guest it failed with the message:

"Kernel driver not installed (rc=-1908)

The VirtualBox Linux kernel driver (vboxdrv) is either not loaded or there is a permission problem with /dev/vboxdrv. Please reinstall the kernel module by executing: '/etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup'

Executing this setup got the message:

"/etc/init.d/vboxdrv: file or directory not found"

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

Installed Packages:

- virtualbox-kernel-desktop-latest 4.1.8-12.mga2
- virtualbox-kernel-3.2.6-desktop-3.mga2
- virtualbox-guest-additions 4.1.8-3.mga2
- virtualbox 4.1.8-3.mga2

Not installed through ControlCenter:

- dkms-virtualbox 4.1.8-3.mga2

After installing it, all is ok and the guest starts.
