Description Wolfgang Bornath 2012-02-22 13:17:27 CET
Description of problem:

During package installation in the installer you see a progress bar, above that the remaining time is shown. But this is very unreliable and most of the time it is incorrect (due to different package selection). As the bar already shows the progress we should remove the "Time remaining ..x minutes" line because it is misleading and useless.

I'am not agree with removing this stuff.

You can know how much coffee you can drink :p

Well, the point of my request is that you can not know about the length of the coffee break because the time display is wrong most of the time and therefore misleading.

Perhaps adding a small comment explaining that it is a guestimate, based on
(then list the things it uses to guess).

Even though I know it's wrong, how fast it's reducing is still useful
in my opinion.

It's an estimation, as told as beginning ("estimating...")
