I would like to suggest ot add a software like "mandriva seed" to the Mageia 2. Mandriva seed can create bootable Live USB drives. Ist Possible to import it to the mageia 2? You can name "Mageia Seed".The Mandriva seed repositories are there at http://ftp.free.fr/mirrors/ftp.mandriva.com/MandrivaLinux/official/iso/2010/mandriva-seed.sh
I believe to create a Live USB for Mageia (in the graphical way). Since Mageia is the fork of Mandriva, i would assume that Mandriva Seed should be able to be installed on Mageia.Nowadays, if the user want to install on mageia must use this code down there below:

In my opinion to get the "mageia seed" will make the mageia better and better.

All you need to do for any of the iso images is
dd if=Mageia-2-*.iso of=/dev/sd? bs=1M
where /dev/sd? is replaced with the usb drive device.

Yes, dd should work fine in linux. But we may need a simple gui tool so people can do it in Windows. There is one that can work with Mageia live CD:

- It works in Windows7, 64bit.
- All data in usb disk will be erased.
- Some user reported v0.6 damaged local hard disk drive, but I don't have this issue. Use it with caution!

Hi,

This bug was filed against cauldron, but we do not have cauldron at the moment.

Please report whether this bug is still valid for Mageia 2.

Yes, this one is valid for Mageia 1, 2, and Cauldron.

We now have have Isodumper as an official graphical interface to dd (at least it's developed by Mageia contributors). It is already in Mageia 4 and cauldron, and is being pushed to Mageia 3 as an update.
