Description Dick Gevers 2011-03-19 17:16:39 CET
Description of problem:

On a quick box with a quick connection and esp. as occasional errors can occur in connection / dependency / urpmi etc. the user may not be aware whether a package installation has succeeded or failed.

I would like to suggest an enhancement: to show a small window with a message such as:

"The requested packages have been installed successfully".

An error message is displayed if the installation fails... I don't see how a "installed successfully" message would be useful? (the same thing happens when you copy/paste a file/folder in a file manager, ideally you get a message box if the operation fails, but not if it succeeds).

You are completely correct. I wasn't thinking of myself, more for the (hopefully many) newbies who could be baffled by the absence of a message as described.

Mageia is free to decide "WONTFIX".

Indeed, we already are notified about errors.
Adding more dialog in the normal path isn't user friendly
