Description Georges Eckenschwiller 2012-02-14 11:05:45 CET
Description of problem:

Hello,
- The file xfce4-panel.xml changed (configver=2, the plugin "actions" changed)
- I think that it's better to configure the panel 1 before the panel 2. In any case, it seems to me more logical.
- Xfce4-appfinder should have a plugin.

I thus made a configuration which integrates these new data and which, I think, stays in mind of the former configuration of Mandriva and thus Mageia.

The archives file "xfce4-panel.tar.bz2" contains that it seems to me to be the minimum necessities.

Personally, I still complete it with mailwatch, netload, cpugraph and, possibly xfce4-cpufreq-plugin.

The Restoration of the title and the borders of windows

Borders and title of the windows of a previous session are not again restored.

It is again necessary to launch the" xfwm4 --replace" command.
This can be automated with:
/etc/xdg/autostart/border.desktop

It seems to me sensible to take advantage of this updating to integrate this command.

Maybe that wally, which(who) takes care of the other packages Xfce, will indeed want to take care of it?

I'll push your modifications.

However there's not going to be a new mageia-xfce-config until cauldron reopens after mga2 release. At the same moment I'll submit new xfce 4.10. (I've tested pre versions locally already for some time) :)
Comment 7 Georges Eckenschwiller 2012-04-22 20:46:34 CEST
I am conscious that the version xfce4.10 cannot be a part of mageia2.
On one hand, it is too late and on the other hand he involves only a pre-version.

From my part, I also tried to prepare package them xfce4.10.
I would like to know your opinion.

Hello,

I have just reconstructed the packages for Xfce 4.10
I added it a lot of additional packages.

On http://paiiou.free.fr/Packages you will find src, i586 and x86_64

I am not a specialist of the construction of the packages and it is with
pleasure that I would receive your comments. ( paiiou@free.fr )

There will be certaiinement of the things to be modified, but if this work can
advance yours, it will be good.

Excuse my mediocre English. It is a machine translation.

Hi,

This bug was filed against cauldron, but we do not have cauldron at the moment.

Please report whether this bug is still valid for Mageia 2.

Thanks :)

Cheers,
marja

Pushed new mageia-xfce-config to Cauldron. There's a plenty of changes in how it's packaged and some changes in configs itself too. Please test.
Comment 13 Georges Eckenschwiller 2012-07-23 22:57:20 CEST
Good evening,
I had a little of evil to test the package.
Cauldron raises at present problems: blocking of the menus, the icones are inoperant... It is also the case with LXDE.

Finally, I completed my local mirror with the packages of cauldron (task-xfce-minimal, mageia-xfce-config, xfce4-panel...).

The result corresponds well to my wishes:
- The superior bar of the panel does not hide any more the icons of the desk
- The icons of the panel are quite present

There are however three corrections to be made:
- The file xfce4-appfinder.desktop which I had indicated is incorrect and incomplete. I join a new file.
- The syntax of the file xfce4-panel.xml changed since the version pre4.10. I also join the new file.
- My tests showed that the volmanrc file is not any more used. A thunar-volman.xml file, in the xfce-perchannel-xml directory is now needed.

I propose also two other possible improvements:
- Terminal is more pleasant with an image. I propose a terminalrc file.
- Fedora's keyboard shortcuts are more complete. I also propose the file xfce4-keyboard-shortcuts.xml which I slightly adapted.

I've already synced settings and panel desktop files in SVN for upstream Xfce 4.10 and will push new release later today. However this new release doesn't contain any fixes from you.
Comment 20 Georges Eckenschwiller 2012-08-25 17:11:24 CEST
The last version of mageia-xfce-config answers totally my expectations and I think that she has to suit with the majority of the users.
