Per artwork meeting, there should be one background for:
- GDM
- gnome-shell
- gnome fallback mode


This bug is to track that I changed the background.

Note: I don't know which background was decided upon :P

Previous comment was just for the small logo above the user list.

For the background itself, seems an override for org.gnome.desktop.background is needed, see:

http://git.gnome.org/browse/gsettings-desktop-schemas/tree/schemas/org.gnome.desktop.background.gschema.xml.in.in

Meaning: need to modify gsettings-desktop-schemas.

At the moment we have mageia-theme packages.

task-gnome currently references oxygen directly. As that is something Mageia specific, I think the background as well as Oxygen requirements should be moved to mageia-theme-something-gnome.

The mageia-theme package is a complicated for me to read. So still working on it.

I made a mageia-theme-gnome subpackage. It should hopefully change the GDM + default background once installed. More work is needed though!

Did you install mageia-theme-gnome? It should show /usr/share/mga/backgrounds/Mageia-Default-1920x1200.png as the background if not overridden, though not totally sure if it works.

task-kde4 had a require on a package which suggested mageia-theme-kde-background, so to do the same, added a Suggest in task-gnome-minimal.

For me GDM now has the (old) Mageia background.

I think small more tweaks might be required for System Settings, so leaving open still.

Actually it should show /usr/share/mga/backgrounds/default.jpg so it will be ok, for the resolution the user has on his machine.

Ah, didn't know.

But that isn't working:

lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root      28 Apr  3 20:29 default.jpg -> Mageia-Default-1920x1440.jpg

I have 1920x1200. Furthermore, I'd like it to point to a png, not a jpg. Could you make it work please? Can file another bug if needed.

looks like a symbolic link is missing (default.Png)
