Description of problem:

Would be nice to have a package for the Gnome2 GlobalMenu applet under gnome, it is compatible with both gnome2 and gnome3. It's a very nice way to save some space on small screens (I even have it on my 24" screen).

Not in the repos (need to install from source, check this forum post https://forums.mageia.org/en/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=1859)

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open the software manager
2. Search for globalmenu
3. No package available

The package is in Mdv 2010.2, too, but is called gnome-globalmenu there, although the upstream link of the package is http://code.google.com/p/gnome2-globalmenu/

Assigning this package request to all packagers collectively. On a voluntary basis, one of them might want to integrate it to the distribution and maintain it for bug and security fixes.

Last release is from 2010. No project activity . We are already at Gnome 3...
