LikeWiseOpen package for Mageia to join Windows Domain and authenticate with ADS =>
likeWiseOpen package for Mageia to join Windows Domain and authenticate with ADS Still no one likes these feature?. :( Unfortunately the one for fedora doesn't work with mageia. :( I found that Ubuntu does have it in their repositories since 8.04.. Please, please, please, I use mageia at work and I would love to have this feature.. LikeWiseOpen makes it easy to joing linux to an AD domain and be able to login as domain/user in the user prompt, likewise open takes care of everything else. More info. -> https://help.ubuntu.com/8.04/serverguide/likewise-open.html Regards I am trying to install it as well and I am getting FAILED due to following dependencies: sh-utils as far as I understand sh-utils should be part of coreutils package, however PowerBroke-open (previous likewise-open) rpm complains about system not having it. It is a really usefull package and this is the only thing that stops me from installing mageia as my workstation. +1 on this request, Best wishes, Simonas CC:

berazumis It seams that no mageia developer want's mageia to be connected in an easier way to AD.. :-S.... Strange. The company that I work for has talked about moving to a linux distro and save a lot of money on MS licenses, but they would also need to have AD integration since the migration would be in a period of time. They had mentioned Fedora and Ubuntu, since they work fine with PowerBroke-open. Unfortunately Mageia doesn't... and Mageia is a much better distro than Fedora and Ubuntu in my personal oppinion. A lot of money could be donated to the mageia project by many companies. It think this feature would be great.. Regards Hello Nicolas, Yes it is opensource.. The company used to be called Likewise but not it is beyoundtrust. PowerBroker Identity Services รข Open Edition git repository: git://source.pbis.beyondtrust.com/pbis.git I found the ubuntu sources below. https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/likewise-open/6.0.0.53010-4ubuntu5.1 https://github.com/pmorton/likewise-open This package would be a big plus for mageia. Regards Hello Nothing on this yet? :-) Regards This is the download link I got.. http://download1.beyondtrust.com/Technical-Support/Downloads/PowerBroker-Identity-Services-Open-Edition/?Pass=True&elq=01f4c52865364546a0cf488477521aef&elqCampaignId= Regards On Friday I got a coreutils update and I was hopping I woould be able to install the latest likewise open system to integrate my pc to my windows domain, or what it is no called PBIS Open, but unfortunately this feature has not been considered as important as it really is. :-(
It would be nice to be able to login to my AD account just by loging is as: domain\user
Unfortunatly I still get the error saying that there is no sh-utils available. :-(

Version:
Cauldron =>
3 Something is different betwenn mageia's and fedora's PAM that we get this error.
Also while install likewise open (Now PBIS OPen) does not detect sh-utils for some reason.
error: Failed dependencies:
sh-utils is needed by pbis-open-upgrade-7.5.1-1517.x86_64
Is there another way to do that pbis-open does in mageia without the need of pbis?
It seems that none of the mageia or mandriva developers care about making this compatible. :(
Warm Regards
