Description of problem:

mageia dvd

konqueror webkit engine is not installed by default

webkit engine works better than khtml for example with flashplugin : many crashes with khtml

kwebkitpart packet is not installed by default

kwebkitpart was never installed or available by default on mageia 1 (not available on cd/dvd).
I would rather suggests to use rekonq in fact instead of konqueror+kwebkitpart.

I'd like to close this bug as wontfix. Did you try rekonq?

i follow rekonq since its beginning but rekonq is less handy. there is some lacks.

you can't send a web page or its link by mail.
you can't translate a web page.
you can't launch from rekonq chromium or firefox or konqueror to workaround a pb
as you can with konqueror or firefox
etc.

we must wait for extension technology. team works about chrome extension and firefox (futur technology) extension technologies

for my purpose rekonq is today a good challenger but not a replacement.

firefox is a good replacement with oxygen, kwallet, google translator, open with, konquefox.

Hi,

This bug was filed against cauldron, but we do not have cauldron at the moment.

Please report whether this bug is still valid for Mageia 2.

We sticked to khtml currently & it's already too late for mga2 iso
