you must uncheck in the first assistant window "search isp settings via internet" according the assistant offers the choice of protocols (pop3,imap etc.) >kmail count assistant create by default an imap count

kmail If the bug is against the way the wizard work it should be done *upstream* (aka bugs.kde.org) & not on mageia's bugzilla. Not to mention that you can manually configure as you said in your comment #1. Regarding pop/imap choice from desktop/laptop there's *strictly* no reason to prefer imap over pop on a laptop and vice&versa on desktop. Closing as wontfix Status:
