Because you didn't install aria2 but choose curl and/or wget Status:

RESOLVED ok i did not well explain "aria is not installed by default" is the good definition of problem with mageia 1 aria is installed by default is a mageia choice not to use metalink for software management ? meta-task's /etc/urpmi/prefer.vendor.list default to curl for ages (literally since Pixel introduced it in 2007) Status:
RESOLVED =>
REOPENED but we have some issue against aria2, so why not keep it if it's works ? Not a high priority though since urpmi suggests aria2, only people performing minimal install w/o suggest would not have it Priority:

New RPM package request =>
RPM Packages Seems aria2 is used in the installer and as default by urpmi, do we want really that ? (since there is some warning (bug 2454 ) ) Hi, This bug was filed against cauldron, but we do not have cauldron at the moment. Please report whether this bug is still valid for Mageia 2. Thanks :) Cheers, marja Keywords:
