NEEDINFO tried the DVD x86-64 alpha3 version and it went far enough that I can determine the cause of the problem: logitech blue tooth keyboard/mouse not recognized. Everything works when trying an older mouse. You may want to update the hardware detector. Regards and thank you. Can you paste the output of lscpidrake -v for that ? Component:

RPM Packages I should have been more explicit: my experiment was positive enough that I could proceed beyond the previous hang but I did not complete the install because I did not want to install an alpha version on my main system. On reception of your last message I used another system where I could conveniently attempt a complete install of the x86-64 alpha3. As for the previous case it hung with the logitech but booted correctly with my old keyboard/display setup and proceeded to install ... about to 30% and then hung there. My assumption is that this is for another reason but in any case I was not able to test the lscpcidrake -v command. I guess I will retry this with the next update. @ Philippe Thanks for replying. Yes, please try with Mga 2 beta when it becomes available CC:

marja11 This might be a duplicate of bug 4129 In Mageia 1 (so not cauldron): Please run lspcidrake -v > pci.txt in a konsole/terminal and attach the resulting pci.txt to this report but if it is a duplicate, installing with the boot.iso should work fine, now (In reply to comment #6) > This might be a duplicate of bug 4129 > > > In Mageia 1 (so not cauldron): > > Please run > lspcidrake -v > pci.txt > in a konsole/terminal and attach the resulting pci.txt to this report > > but if it is a duplicate, installing with the boot.iso should work fine, now No reply, I'll close it as a duplicate. Please reopen this bug, and attach the requested file if you still have this problem with Mga2b2 *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 4129 *** Status:

RESOLVED Not sure it's a dup. What hid drivers are loaded when using this mouse? (eg: "/sbin/lsmod|grep hid") Do these drivers got loaded by the installer? (got to console 2, then type "lsmod|grep hid" there) Status:

REOPENED Can you test Mga2 beta2 btw? @ Philippe Please answer the questions (there are more of them) above within two weeks from now, to avoid this bug being closed as OLD. @ Philippe Since there are insufficient details provided in this report for us to investigate the issue further, and we have not received feedback to the information we have requested above, we will assume the problem was not reproducible, or has been fixed. Please reopen if this issue is still present in Mageia 2 beta 3 and reply to comment 8 http://blog.mageia.org/en/2012/04/18/last-run-for-mageia-2-test-beta-3/ Closing as OLD. Status:
