Can't confirm that here. Using the example firefox -new-tab http://www.mageia.org works fine on my i586 Mageia 1 system. CC:

davidwhodgins Ok, I apologize for the noise. After reading your comment, I disabled all Firefox extensions and re-enabled them one by one. As it turned out, one of them (called "Binnen-I-Be-Gone") caused Firefox to crash on activation. Disabling it solved the problem, all of the above-mentioned use cases now work as they should. I didn't think of this before because I had been using all of my extensions for quite a while now and only recently, after a round of mageia updates, did the crashing start. Anyways, I can live without that extension and everything is working fine again. Thanks a lot for your help, and sorry for the noise! Status:
