thierry.vignaud I think it's actually not rpmdrake but desktop-common-data, that has to be fixed. That's where the icons are coming from. Well, i didn't say rpmdrake has to be fixed :) Just that the duplication is visible there, and it's maybe the most prominent place to see it. Ah yes sorry for the noise CC:

(none) rm -rf /root/tmp && mkdir /root/tmp fixes the icons for rpmdrake as well as for kde, should the root user log in to kde. CC:

geiger.david68210 Well, even if the same package is involved, I don't see the relationship between these directory namings and the wrong icons. As per comment 4, I'm closing this bug as invalid. Feel free to reopen if I'm mistaken. Status:

RESOLVED No, it is a fact that we have numerous "wrong" icons in rpmdrake. But this need some work done by artwork and will most likely not happen in Mga2 but will need a bit more work. This bug is only in parts connected to bug #107 (since the solution of bug #107 solves one wrong icon among many). Status:

(none) Hi, This bug was filed against cauldron, but we do not have cauldron at the moment. Please report whether this bug is still valid for Mageia 2. Thanks :) Cheers, marja Keywords:

oliver.bgr Hi all, as I'm in charge of the new rpm group feature for mageia 3, I looked into the icon issue. The rpmdrake icons come from the desktop-common-data package (they are the same as the menu icons btw). Following the redesign of the rpm groups (https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Feature:RPMGroupRevamp) and in order to fix the bug reported by Florian, here are the changes in icons that should (ideally) be done: Icons to be created: - communications_bluetooth_section - communications_dialup_section - communication_radio_section - communication_serial_section - shooter_section - simulation_section - geography_section - graphical_desktop_section - enlightment_section - icewm_section - windowmaker_section - xfce_section - graphics_3d_section - graphics_editors_section - graphics_photography_section - graphics_scanning_section - graphics_utilities_section - graphics_viewers_section - office_suite - sound_editors_section - sound_midi_section - sound_mixers_section - sound_utilities_section - servers_section - video_editors_section - video_players_section - video_television_section - video_utilities_section Icons to be created (lower priority): - development_basic - development_c - development_cpp - development_csharp - development_databases - development_erlang - development_java - development_kernel - development_ocaml - development_perl - development_php - development_python - development_x11 Icons to be specialised: - all identical to chemistry_section: + chemistry_section + code_generator_section (only in menu) + databases_section + data_visualization_section (only in menu) + development_section + development_environment_section (only in menu) + development_tools_section (only in menu) + emulators_section + file_tools_section + text_tools_section + shells_section - all identical to cards_section: + adventure_section + amusement_section + arcade_section + boards_section + other_amusement + puzzle_section + sport_section + strategy_section + toys_section - all identical to sciences_section: + artificial_intelligence_section (only in menu) + astronomy_section + biology_section + computer_science_section + electricity_section (only in menu) + goesciences_section + numerical_analysis_section (only in menu) + other_sciences + physics_section + robotics_section (only in menu) + sciences_section Once all the new ones are at least created, I can update rpmdrake to use these icons. Then we can change the icons as we update them. I am emailing -atelier about that. CC:

https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Rpmdrake_icon_duplicates kind of fixed ? I added new icons. So it's quite fixed (there are still duplicates, but not as critically as before). Status:

The following categories in rpmdrake have the same icons: archiving, public keys, sound, system, terminals ("gear" icon) communications, networking ("globe" icon) databases, development, editors, emulators, file tools, shells, text tools ("hammer and banner icon") Also most of the sub-categories share the same icon. Just take a look with a file manager which supports image preview in /usr/share/icons and you will see the problem easily. For example, the blue "globe" icon is duplicated there 20 times, always with a different name. (If we do such stuff at all, we could at least easily use symlinks to save a bit of space.)
