Description of problem:

My laptop display switches unexpectedly and frequently from KDE session to terminal mode (tty1). Mouse cursor is still visible. I need to press Ctrl-Alt-F2 (or any other Ctr-Alt-Functionkey) to bring the KDE session back on my display.

On the other hand, I cannot open a terminal with Ctrl-Alt-F1...F12 from a KDE session.

I have the problem as well.  Bug 4170 is where it's dealt with.
