you may check for GDM crashes in /var/log/gdm (but without PulseAudio of course in order to be able to reproduce crashes) CC:

text/plain This one is important: gnome-session[2736]: GLib-GIO-ERROR: No GSettings schemas are installed on the system#012aborting... Would suggest that gnome-session has a missing dependency CC:

olav Weird, gsettings-desktop-schemas is already a dependency for gnome-session. In the console as root if I launch gdm I have : **WARNING**: Failed to acquire org.gnome.DisplayManager **WARNING**: Could not acquire name; bailing out If I install the package "gnome-packagekit-common", it is OK. This looks to be the same as bug 4127. Oddly, on my desktop machine I don't see this problem, on my notebook I do. CC:

mageia is this bug still valid after installing beta 3 or rc? CC:

NEEDINFO Now it is OK because it seems that the package gnome-packagekit-common is installed with LXDE. (In reply to comment #10) > Now it is OK because it seems that the package gnome-packagekit-common > is installed with LXDE. lxde should use lxdm now, anyway thanks Status:
