Hi, thanks for reporting this bug.

When does it failed ? after the grub, when starting X ? have you info if you add plymouth=verbose at the boot ?

Component: Installer => RPM Packages
Summary: Installation of Mageia 2 alfa 3 works OK but reboot failed => Installation of Mageia 2 alpha 3 works OK but reboot failed (wmware)

I think it will failed just before it shall show the loginwindow.
I think that I saw something that look likes starting plymoth... when rebooting.

I think the booting failed just before starting the login-window and I dont't know if it before or after the grub.

Ok so it's at the start of X.

So what you can try:

boot without X11. (with using the failsafe mode (at the grub))

Then enable the core/debug_release media/repository and install
x11-server-debug, x11-driver-video-sisimedia-debug, glibc-debug packages

download both https://bugs.mageia.org/attachment.cgi?id=121 save it as Xgdb2
and https://bugs.mageia.org/attachment.cgi?id=122 as gcmds2

Then just run "sh ./Xgdb2.sh" on a text terminal as root
(not from a terminal within X11 use Ctrl+Alt+F1),
then switch back to X11 until it segfaults (Ctrl+Alt+F7).

Alternatively you may try to run:
service dm start && sleep 1 && gdb --pid $(pidof /etc/X11/X)

Sorry.
It doesn't matter. I tried to start failsafe but it will be the same result,
black screen and locked keyboard and locked mause.
I have no possibility to do anything of your proposal.
