Description Jaromír Cápík 2012-01-10 23:40:10 CET
Description of problem:
Kaffeine doesn't see DVB-T cards because of missing permissions (regular user).
Regular users are missing in the 'video' group and others can't even read from the /dev/dvb/* files.
Similar problem was solved in K3b (CD burning software) by addition of a permission configuration dialog directly to the application. It asks for the root password and helps users to manage the group membership or device permisions.
Please, forward this issue to upstream.

Here the dvb works.

(it's more easy, if it's you that report the bug upstream)
Comment 2 Jaromír Cápík 2012-01-12 11:32:09 CET
Since this might be a distribution specific problem I decided to choose this bug tracker first.
My system has been upgraded from MDV2010.2. The permissions might be set by the Mageia installer in Your case. But ok ... I'll ask for the RFE directly.

Ok thanks, I close this one, because we have no developers of kaffeine (and it's not the place for an upstream enhancement request)
