Perhaps related to Bug 1229 I need to start manualy envy24control, to set the DAC levels, and then, the sound works fine. If I restart the session, I get the same error of kmix and I need to run again envy24control. I just succeed to install pulseaudio-debug-1.1-3.mga2.x86_64 Hi, thanks for reporting this bug. Assigned to the package maintainer. (Please set the status to 'assigned' if you are working on it) Keywords:

Triaged Seems like your debug media is out of date. The latest version of PA debug is: pulseaudio-debug-1.1-3.mga2.x86_64 (note the 3). Also don't forget to include the kmix debug symbols too. Status:

ASSIGNED Incidentally, kmix should not be doing anything active anyway, so I'm surprised to see a "workaround with envy24control".... what eactly do you have to do in envy24control? Can you make the same changes with "alsamixer -cN" (where N is the number of your card - typically 0 or 1)? Please also attach the output of "pacmd ls" and "lspcidrake -v"

Output of lspcidrake and pacmd
With Mageia 2 beta 1, after a fresh install, in envy24control, the "Analogue Volume" was set to 0. After setting the volume to an upper value, it works.
Alsamixer -c1 works fine and mix also :-)
In the attached file are the output of lspcidrake -v and pacmd ls
IMO, the bug can be closed. The only restriction is that hdmi level is 100% and tne analogue volume is 0%. It would be better to put all outputs to 50%. With this, the will be working out the box.
Hi, This bug was filed against cauldron, but we do not have cauldron at the moment. Please report whether this bug is still valid for Mageia 2. Thanks :) Cheers, marja This bug is not valid now. I close it. Status:
